What:

Our annual Spring Camp is a beloved Watermelon Sessions tradition — a week where curious hands, calm bodies, and joyful hearts come together to welcome the new season through gardening, sensory exploration, and community care.

Campers dive into the world beneath our feet as we learn about soil, compost, and the tiny ecosystems that help plants thrive. We explore textures, smells, and the grounding magic of working with earth — a sensory experience that supports regulation, curiosity, and connection.

Throughout the week, we roll up our sleeves and get planting:

  • Vegetables and herbs in our veggie beds

  • Flowers and small bushes to support pollinators

  • New plants in our adopted garden areas as part of Vancouver’s beautification efforts

Kids get to see how their work directly shapes and brightens our shared spaces, building confidence and a sense of stewardship.

And because no Spring Camp is complete without a little adventure, we wrap in a garden‑themed scavenger hunt — encouraging observation, teamwork, and playful exploration of the natural world.

Every activity is designed to be accessible, choice‑filled, and neurodiversity‑affirming. Spring Camp is a place to grow skills, friendships, and green things — all at the same time.
