Seeing Your Child Through Connection and Play

A 1:1 parent support program grounded in the DIR/Floortime approach

Run by Ieva Jurkonyte - Advanced DIR/Floortime Practitioner

Seeing Your Child Through Connection & Play is a gentle, supportive program for parents who want to better understand their child’s emotional world, communication, and developmental needs. Through six individualized sessions, parents learn how to see their child more clearly, connect more deeply, and support development through everyday moments of play and relationship.

Many parents wonder:

Why does my child react this way?

What are they trying to communicate?

How can I connect with them more easily?

Children often experience the world in ways that aren’t immediately visible from the outside. Their behaviours, emotions, and reactions are signals—clues to their sensory experiences, feelings, and developmental needs. This program helps parents slow down, observe, and understand those signals with confidence and compassion.

When parents begin to understand their child’s unique profile, connection becomes easier. Communication grows more naturally. Even short daily interactions can become meaningful moments for growth, regulation, and joy.

The goal is never to “fix” a child.
The goal is to understand them, support their development, and strengthen the parent–child relationship through connection and play.

🌿 What Is DIR/Floortime?
DIR/Floortime is a developmental, relationship-based approach that supports children’s emotional, social, and communication development through play and meaningful interaction.

DIR stands for:

Developmental — understanding a child’s emotional and communication capacities

Individual Differences — recognizing sensory processing, learning styles, and regulation needs

Relationship-Based — supporting development through warm, responsive connection

Instead of focusing on behaviours, Floortime focuses on connection, engagement, and shared joy. Adults follow the child’s interests, join their world, and gently expand communication, thinking, and interaction.

The parent–child relationship becomes the foundation for learning and development.
