Supported play group

Social Play Group for Ages 3–5
Small group • 5 children • 1-hour sessions

A Gentle Start to Social Play
Whether your child is just starting to explore playing with others or needs a little extra support joining
in, this group offers a warm, welcoming space to connect, play, and feel part of something.

What This Program Is About
At this age, children don’t build attention by sitting still — they build it through play, connection, and
feeling safe with others.
Supported Play Group is a playful social group where children can:
• notice each other

• play side-by-side

• take turns

• share moments

• and gradually grow into
• connecting with peers

There’s no pressure — just gentle guidance, lots of play, and caring adults who help children feel
comfortable and included.

Skills We Focus On
Through playful, shared experiences, we support children in gradually becoming more comfortable
engaging with others and participating in a group.

We will focus on helping children:
• notice and respond to peers
• engage in simple back-and-forth interactions
• develop early turn-taking skills
• build co-regulation skills with adult support
• increase confidence in social settings

Our Approach
Inspired by the DIR®/Floortime approach, we follow your child’s lead and meet them where they are.
Our facilitators offer warm, responsive support, helping children move naturally between play,
movement, and connection — without pressure or expectation.
Because when children feel safe, seen, and supported, social skills begin to grow naturally.

What a Session Looks Like
Each session is filled with playful opportunities to connect, including:
• Music and movement
• Art and creative play
• Simple baking fun
• Easy, playful group games

• Side-by-side and shared play

These activities are less about “doing it right” and more about sharing moments, having fun, and
connecting with others.

Why Small Groups Matter
With just 5 children, we can gently support each child as they:
• warm up at their own pace
• feel comfortable around others
• begin to reach out and connect
It’s the perfect size for first friendships to begin.

Why 1 Hour?
One hour is just right for this age — enough time to connect, but not so long that it becomes
overwhelming.
Young children thrive in short, meaningful bursts of play and connection.
